Place of Birth: Trino, Italy
Date of Death: 2004/7/23

Mini Biography:
The son of an eminent judge, Piccioni followed in his father's footsteps and practiced as a lawyer before abandoning the legal profession to pursue his first love: music. A highly skilled pianist and organist, he played regulary for friends in the Italian film world, and Michelangelo Antonioni suggested him to compose for the big screen. Working under the pseudonym Piero Morgan, he at first specialised in a sophisticated soft jazz style, espacially in his work for Alberto Sordi, with whom he collaborated on some thirty films. He also worked with directors in Italian neo-realist cinema, such as Alberto Lattuadas, Vittorio De Sica, Luchino Visconti, and Roberto Rossellini. He formed a particularly fruitful creative bond with director Francesco Rosi.
